Seminar details: KTPs are an ideal way for academics to work with industry by supervising an associate (recent graduate or phD student) in the business. The seminar will cover the programs offered by KTPs, provide examples of recent projects and the KTP application and process with hints and tips of what makes a successful bid.

Title: University intellectual property and student IP

Seminar details: An overview of what types of intellectual property can be associated with an idea including “soft IP” such as design right and copyright as well as more conventional IP such as patents. The talk will also describe best practice for capturing and recording IP and how IP generated by a student is dealt with under the University’s IP policy.
Who should attend: Students at graduate and postgraduate level, academics working with students or those running schemes such as Access to Masters involving students working with industrial collaborators.
