The Department of Research and Innovation have information to support your Horizon 2020  on the DRI Collaborate pages

Swansea University has boldly entered the Horizon 2020 arena.   The outcome of a number of recently submitted proposals should be with us this summer.

Horizon 2020 is the European Union's main funding programme supporting Research and Innovation, with a budget of almost 80 Million Euros over 7 years.

The Department of Research and Innovation has been busy raising awareness of the programme and has a range of materials to aid staff interested in applying to the programme.

Encouragingly, there is significant interest at Swansea University in applying for this funding. A recent course organised by DRI with Sean McCarthy of Hyperion titled 'How to write a competitive proposal for H2020' attracted a large following from Swansea University, local business, Welsh Government and other HEIs.  The course gave attendees an excellent overview of how to submit the best proposal possible, with top tips and helpful supporting materials.

Materials presented by Sean at the course are now being used by DRI to encourage thorough proposal planning.  The materials also offer the proposer the chance to write a one page proposal at an early stage which can be checked by external experts for fit with the programme.

DRI has a few copies of the book which accompanied the Hyperion course which can be loaned to Principal Investigators preparing bids.

Current H2020 calls are listed at: http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/desktop/en/opportunities/index.html

Principal Investigators intending to submit a H2020 proposal are encouraged to get in touch with their DRI Pre Award Contact at an early stage and ideally several months before the submission deadline. This will ensure the team can provide maximum added value and help your bid to be competitive
